Staring At Your Face In The Mirror Bad Experience

Hi there, so I would really like some advice as I’m absolutely shocked and extremely freaked out by what’s just happened.

I used to do this as a kid but nothing would happen back then was ever like this, but I’ll get to the point..

I started into the mirror today, looking directly into my own eyes to start the experiment today. After about 30 ish seconds my face started to darken, my eyes began to sink and fade slightly “at this point I’m doing my best not to blink” as my whole entire face darkens after about a minute I see this horrifyingly dark facial figure instantly pop out”and I know that sounds ridiculous” it was all contorted and dark, it was absolutely horrifying I can’t explain it.

But the moment that happened, I quickly snapped my eyes off of the mirror because I couldn’t take it any more, I was too disturbed but then I started to feel extremely dizzy… ? so incredibly light headed it felt like I was literally leaving my body and at the same time every hair was standing up on my body and it felt like I was tingling all over and I had goosebumps everywhere.

If my chair wasn’t there and I hadn’t dropped to my chair I would have fallen to the ground. After that a small manic attack occurred too.

Is this something paranormal? I honestly have never ever in my life felt or experienced this kind of thing before, and I am so scared right now. I can’t get that face out of my head, I mean when I looked away it was like it was almost burned into my vision. And it took a second for me to recognize my own face in the mirror after reluctantly peering at myself for a quick second after the ordeal.

I’m 22 Male and living in England and this has stumped me, I really don’t know what happened.

And I really wish it didn’t happen. Wish I never did it now.

I would really like some help or advice.

Kind regards,
Josh

Demon Encounter

Not mine, but it happened to my brother-in-law last night:

>wake up
>right in his face, like inches away, is “something” that had red eyes, two holes where its nostrils should be (reminded him of a snout, but nothing was sticking out), reddish-orange skin and horns, its mouth open a bit showing jagged bright white teeth
>he screams his head off, waking up the wife, the demon-thing has disappeared
>goes to the bathroom and discovers cuts under his nose, on his pinky knuckle, and three bruises on his right shoulder the size of fingers like he was squeezed

It was nearly pitch dark in their bedroom (only a hallway light beyond a cracked open door) so he has no idea how he could see the face so well, since he doesn’t think it was glowing or anything.

This is not the first time stuff like this has occurred in this home*; this place has been a hotbed for spooky stuff for almost 30 years. Thankfully I seem to be the most spared of the worst of it.

We may have seen this specific one decades ago: brother as a child saw something with red eyes and white teeth but it was deep in the closet so that’s all the details he made out before it disappeared.

Why Do I Feel Drawn To A House?

In August of 2008, I participated in a paranormal investigation at Graystone Manor in Perry, Fl. I had some experiences while there.

Ever since then, I’ve dreamed about the house. Never anything negative, just talking to the spirits of at least four of the children who died there in a fire. However, for the past year or so I’ve been drawn to the house. I dream of it almost every night. I find myself driving the 60 or so miles just to sit and look at the house.

Graystone Manor Perry, Florida

I also pull up the house on google earth and stare at it for hours. Again, I never get any negative vibes. Just the feeling that I need to be there for some reason.

Any thoughts?

What Is It That I Could Be Dealing With?

So about 12 years ago my family bought a house in the country real old house well we always knew something was in the house, but it was just minor things. well my parents are selling the house now. Things have been getting strange.

My dog is being locked in rooms he’s scared to go in the house. Things are moving and my mother says she hears strange popping sounds. The cat wont even go inside.

Well growing up I used to play around with Ouija boards and just do stuff I probably shouldn’t have done…

I plan on going there this weekend me and some friends have some alright cameras and equipment… and I guess the question is what is it that I could be dealing with?

Questions About Dreams, Ghosts, Other Things!

Hello, I want to apologize ahead of time – I have so many questions that I want to ask! I’m going to try and type them in order of importance.. Personal importance, what matters to me most.

I am a young adult, 21 years old, and very curious about the ‘unseen’ world around me. My Grandfather has always told me that he has the ability to see ghosts. I remember one occasion where we were on vacation in another state and he met an elderly man at our camp grounds. He is a friendly person, he introduced himself immediately, shook the mans hand, and asked him who the lovely lady was beside him. Well you can probably guess.. there was no one beside this man that or anyone else could see. The man was confused and my grandfather began to describe the woman he claimed to see. I watched this man’s face turn white, his eyes grow wide, he was shocked. He said that the description fit his wife perfectly, even the clothes she was wearing.

There are other occasions I’ve seen him do things like this. I was always amazed and yet skeptical. Envious as well. I cannot see the things that he does, but I have always wanted to.

Grandpa always told me that I had a special spirit that was following me around. Someone special that was trying to keep me safe. He told me that they watched over me all the time, that it was someone from the other side of my family that had passed away before I was born.

I’ve always wondered who he was talking about. My other grandfather passed away long before I was born, he committed suicide. Could that be him?

Secondly, I’ve never seen or heard any ghosts, but I have had strange experiences. Footsteps upstairs, locked doors opening, the feeling of someone standing in front of me in the dark.. Those were alarming and I count them as negative experiences. My positive ones include a general sense of ‘safety’ that I feel overcoming me sometimes when I’m scared of nervous. Pokes (gentle) in the back when I forget something important, even once when I had accidentally fallen asleep on the floor of my bedroom. It was freezing cold that night and I probably would have gotten sick if not for the gentle touch on my back waking me up to get into bed.

Recently things have changed. I’ve been staying at a close friends house off and on over the past 5 months. They told me at the start that their house was haunted and not to worry about it, the ghosts there were peaceful. I didn’t think much of it at the time. A few months passed without incident.. then one day I see an older women in a flowing light blue shirt pass by the window. I told my friend and he said that others had seen an older women as well. Another few months passed and here we are.

I don’t sleep well at this house. I wake up multiple times throughout the night, try to roll over or get comfortable and immediately fall back asleep. Two nights ago I woke up facing my friend who sleeping on the side of the bed not touching the wall. I open my eyes and there is a man standing beside the bed with a blank look on his face, turned towards the hallway. (So basically he’s standing on the west side, staring south.) He wasn’t moving, his arms were casual at his side. I blinked a few times and he was still there. I rolled over, dismissed it, and went back to sleep.

I feel safe in that house, it feels like home, I’ve never been scared to be there, not even after either of these experiences. I’m only wondering why have I started seeing these things now? What’s the purpose?

The house I’m talking about is old, it was built by Irish settlers in the 1840s. My friends family purchased it some time in the mid 1900’s and his grandfather added a new section, electricity, running water, and indoor plumbing. His grandfather has since passed away but I’m certain that wasn’t the man I saw by the bed. Thinking about it now.. It might have been my grandfather who killed himself.. The resemblance is there.

I have more questions but I feel as though this is already long enough. I’ll ask more at a later time.

Thank you so much for any information you can provide!

Missing Medication

Hi. This is strange and I am not crazy. For my birthday my mom and I took a night tour of the Jefferson city prison in Missouri. It is no longer in operation and offers haunted tours.

The rules state that all bags will be searched before you enter the place. I used a clear makeup bag as my purse that night. In my purse were a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, my car fob, a bottle of Benadryl, and a child proofed prescription bottle of Xanax. I had filled the prescription that day and had not needed to take one. The bag never left my arm and was never opened until we got back to the hotel room after the tour.

Here comes the crazy part. While unpacking the bag I noticed that the Xanax bottle was opened and spilled in the bottom of the bag. I counted the pills that were left and 30 of the 60 were missing. That is exactly half of my pills. I thought there might be a hole in the bag so I filled the bathtub and submerged the bag and zipped it closed under water. there were no drips coming from the bag even when turned upside down.

My question is this, How does a child proofed bottle open itself and where did my pills go? My Mom wants to go back but I am having second thoughts. Is it safe to be there? What happened to me? Is this a common thing to have happen? Thank you.

Is My Doing Research Attracting Things?

Will marking things with protective marks and the like attract spirits and things? I’ve heard of people doing things like that, even ‘harmless’ or protective stuff, that ended up getting the attention of some unpleasant things. And what about doing research and whatnot? Just want to know if seemingly harmless things like that set someone up as a beacon or anything.

Just wanted to know if doing extensive research into the subject of non-living entities and the like is the same as painting a target on your back. If a person were to go around checking out books and and saving stuff online and took notes, would that put a beacon over their head for the things they’re researching?

The Semi-skeptic Is Back

So, I asked a question here a while back that was kind of resolved (I Wonder If I Am Going Crazy) I’ve taken to keeping places well lit, even at night, and the mirrors covered (even at my most current residence). I felt almost normal for a little while, and that was that for several months, and now here I am again.

I’ve been staying with my grand-parents for the last couple months to take some space from my house and family, and it’s the break that brought my attention to some things.

I’ve been feeling uncomfortable again (that never really went away- not for more than a week or so at a time). That creepy, almost nauseous feeling, like there’s someone else in the house with me (even when I’m alone)? It’s not so concentrated though. It used to feel more like another person (especially back home), but here and now it’s kind of vague, and goes away when other people are around. Recently, since I’ve been at my grand-parents’, I’ve heard the faint whispering sounds again and for a second last night I thought I heard singing. I’ve also been smelling cigarette smoke, even though no one in the house has ever smoked.

This has been going on since earlier this summer- I first smelled it in my bedroom, even though I’d been living there for more than half a year and hadn’t smelled smoke like that before. It happened more around the house (just a few times, I think), and now it’s happened at my grand-parents’. I only recently began to really think about it, and figured that maybe it could just be in my head, or it was me in a not-crazy way, or maybe it was my books.

I collect old books (at least 70 years old), and I brought a few of them with me from my home, and have acquired several more since here. I was thinking maybe those are part of why the little peculiarities haven’t stopped (and seem to have followed me 2,000 miles across the country). Just the whole ‘I like weird old things, weird old things must like me’ reasoning. Especially since I may have bought one of said books around the time the smokey scent started.

But I really don’t know, so that’s why I’m asking for outside opinions (again). I guess the question’s really just ‘Why am I experiencing this, why won’t it go away, why did it follow me, and why am I suddenly starting to smell things?’

Waking Up At 3:18 AM

Hi. I’ve got some questions for you. Usually I wake up at 3.18 am and hear things and only at that time. I live in a house, in 1st floor, but the flat below us is empty for more than 10 years. If I woke up, I hear that someone came in, at the front door or that someone just walked in the apartment below.

But a few days ago something ever more strange happened. I woke up 3.18 am again and heard 3 knocks right above my bed, on the ceiling. The next day I couldn’t sleep so I was already awake. And again on 3.18am, my computer starts. But the thing is that computer was turned off.

So, can you tell if anything is happening and if 3 knocks have some meaning or not? Is something in my house or I just overreact?
