Are we crazy or is it possible that there is something paranormal here?

We moved into our house 2.5 years ago; we bought it brand new but it was already built so we were not part of the design/color/etc. Our house was just a house to us until May 2012. Our first child was born in November of last year.

Starting in May strange things began to happen. On that night in May, we had a guest over and the three of us took pictures outside at night. When we were comparing pictures inside I noticed orbs in the pictures and made a comment when suddenly all of our lights went out. It was only our house; our breaker had suddenly popped. A month later or so I awoke one night to find a pale older woman with grey or blonde hair wearing a floral pattern dress at the foot of our bed watching my husband. I ignored it and told myself it was in my head. But so much began happening that we could no longer just ignore it.

Doors would suddenly open and close with no apparent explanation- the AC had not just turned on or off. The lights would turn off & on. My husband and I have both witnessed a tall man walking through our house many times. He walks from the back bedroom to our bedroom and from our laundry room to our bedroom. Only on two occasions has this really scared us. One time as I was walking by, a mirror that had been leaning against the wall suddenly flew forward as if thrown and shattered on the ground. Objects from the table will fall on to the ground as if thrown with no one around. We have heard screams and voices, as well as hints of smells with no explanation. The TV would suddenly change channels or the volume would increase or decrease all the way or turn on or off without anyone around. We also feel watched many times, as if there is someone else in the room.

Sometime at the end of summer, we went to a flea market and bought an antique grandmother clock. As we were loading it into the truck, the seller confessed to us that the chiming part of it didn’t actually work, and she would refund us because she knew we were excited about it. We decided to keep it anyway and brought it home. When we got home, we polished it off and put new batteries in it. Suddenly it began to chime and we were excited. But it was too strange for us and would chime at odd times. It never chimed at the hour, half hour, or quarter hour. It was very random with the times that it would chime. If a door suddenly opened for no apparent reason – chime. The breaker suddenly popped for no reason – chime. Lightning struck – chime. The phone rang – chime. We ended up taking the batteries out of it after a month because it was freaking us out.

We started realizing that it may not just be in our head when we both would see the same things happening, and we started to be extra conscious of things such as turning on the lights, making sure the doors are closed, locking doors, etc. One afternoon a group of neighborhood children came to our door to sell us raffle tickets. Our husband answered and I was rocking the baby. As my husband was filling out the information onto the raffle tickets, one of the little girls asked him who the man was who just walked behind him. When my husband explained that there was no other man in the house, the little girls started telling us about how everyone knows our house is haunted; they told us that they have seen strange lights appear/disappear or the curtains would open with no one there.

We took the advice of friends and decided to cleanse our home with sage. We went around the house and came to the living room last. As we walked around the room, the tv (which was on) suddenly became static-y, and the volume turned all the way up, then all the way down. When my husband walked away from it, the tv went back to normal. It didn’t stop any of these things from happening.

We have been more conscious of making sure our doors are closed and locked. We make sure the lights are on or off. It has become very apparent to us that something else is going on. Two nights ago as the final straw for me I suppose. We went to bed, closed, and locked the door. We even double checked. The three of us sleep in the room together. Our cat was sleeping with us that night. I felt a presence in the room and it woke me up but no one was there so I went back to sleep. I felt it again and sat up in bed to find the door suddenly wide open. I woke my husband up and we checked the house to make sure no one was there. The AC wasn’t on and had not just shut off. As we were going back to bed, we locked the door again and heard movement outside the door. Again, no one was there.

I’m not really sure what to make of all this. Are we crazy? Is our house really haunted? Is there any harm in leaving the spirits alone?

I can remember an old tramp’s face at the window of my bedroom. The problem was, right outside my window was a rather long wide pond (right up next to the house) that my mother had put there many years before. I was about eight years old at the time, and I Knew no one could be standing close enough to the window to have their face appear the way it did, and then duck down. I got into the habit of closing my curtains before nightfall, just so I wouldn’t have to see whomever was looking in.

The first time it happened I told my parents (the next morning) and mum and I went and looked, but there was no sign of an intruder, and no easy way to get to that side of the house, because the whole area was bushy and overgrown.

What is your first memory of being haunted by ‘something’ or ‘someone’?

Can you be religious and still believe in spirits and ghosts?

I’ve always been sensitive to ghosts/spirits since about age 15. at times, I hear things that others do not. I have never seen an apparition or ghost but I’ve felt them touch and/or put pressure on my body. never anything painful. me and my husband have been having problems with this from august 2009 thru December 2011. we bought a house in GA on may 1st, 2012; so far, no ghosts. do ghosts follow you from house to house? if so, then why? especially if you do not seem to know who they are? how do they travel with you? do they latch on to your personal possessions or do they just appear at each new house? the previous homes were rentals. we now live in our own home. any help would be deeply appreciate. thank you.

I have a strange question. I was reading one of the most recent posts “a good spirit?”, and something interesting caught my eye when Ama replied about how she needed to slow her energy down so that it doesn’t feel like she was having an anxiety attack. I have, with age, been blessed with the ability to feel, hear, smell, know and sometimes see, and honestly when it does happen my body goes haywire, almost like a full blown anxiety attack.

I can’t say that my experiences are bad, I have come to understand a lot in a short period of time, and am keen to learn everyday. My question is – how do you slow your energy down? It is sometimes extremely overwhelming and after a few minutes I dash outside for a breath of fresh air.

In the same thought, I have another question. These spirits that loom around in my apartment always have something to teach about life in a spiritual sense and much of my knowledge has actually come from them. How do you classify these spirits? In a physical sense they look like 3-dimensional shadows and are not very consistent, they come and go at random times.   Lastly, I have a very random question, usually when people have deja vu, they say it feels as though they have been there before. Has anybody ever experienced deja vu as an episode of remembrance? Like you don’t just feel as though you’ve been there, but you actually remember that you’ve been there before, there’s a fine line between the difference but its a whole other feeling altogether.

When my father was on his dead bed, he kept telling me that a few black ghosts were coming to get him and he was very afraid.

Who are these ghosts?

Wow, I have a lot to catch up on..I read through the wormhole/black hole discussion rather quickly, left brain caught fire so will take the time to read it slower when I get back from my rush today, but loved loved what I read!!

I have a question about residual hauntings… I know there is no spirit involved with these, but, at the time they are made the person is alive, so.. what if we are making a future residual haunting, could we not be haunted from our own past? Maybe, we are seeing a shadow person of our own making that hasn’t had the time or years to grow stronger? … Could by the time we are past on they have developed enough over time like a photo being exposed in a dark room to be seen a lot clearer?

Just wondering what ya’ll may think about it.

So, I feel kind of weird asking this question because I have never in my life dealt with this kind of stuff. I live in a very old house with my boyfriend. He has always told me that weird things have happened to him. One house we stayed in, he said he would see shadows.

One time he said when we were asleep that he saw a reddish colored sweater in another room that moved towards him. He has woken up in the middle of the night thinking I was choking him. The house that we are in now (I moved out because of personal issues) he is afraid to stay there alone. There are times when he is so scared that he cant move.

He has a bible that he leaves open on a shelf to Psalms 23, and he said he keeps noticing that it changes to be 1 page off.

Every once in a while he sees a scruffy looking guy for a very quick second to where he cant make him out.

Now he says there is a spirit named Jeffrey that tells him bad things, including that he doesn’t like me and I cant be in the house, that I’m trying to hurt my boyfriend or that the other spirit is trying to hurt him. The only thing that has stopped the bad spirit is our dog.

What really freaks me out is that the last couple of days, I have been finding half pieces of Tylenol or Xanax on the floor. My boyfriend told me today that “Jeffrey” told him the bad spirit drops the pills on the floor to try to poison our dog so he will “go to sleep”.

I don’t know if my boyfriend is going crazy or if something is actually happening. He told me that I cant be in the house by myself no matter what. I have never experienced any of this, even when I was living there full time by myself. Please please help to shed some light on this.
