Does Salt Really Ward Off Evil?

Does salt actually have some sort of power over ghosts and spirits? If not then how and where did we get the idea?

Spreading or sprinkling salt to ward off ghosts or bad spirits seems to be a common practice around the world. Why is it so widespread a belief?

Oh and one more question – Does the form of the salt make any difference? Is rock salt the same as Morton’s iodized?

I thought I would post a question of my own. I am interested in seeing the replies because this is something I have always wondered about and had a bit of a problem with believing.

Could I have Been Touched By A Ghost?

One morning I woke up, beautiful day, I don’t know how old I was but I was young, (I woke up before everyone else did haha) I was sleeping on the couch, (first time in years!) I woke up and I wanted to sleep a little longer.. I rolled over, back facing the couch so I could see if my mom or dad walked in, I always laid on my arms and had one arm stick off my bed (or in this case couch) I relaxed a bit, next thing I know I feel like I’ve been touched, I think ‘mom?’ I open my eyes. No one.

I ran to my parents room and there was my parents, asleep, (drank a little to much night before,) besides them I was home alone. It felt like some one walked up n touched my arm and walked away. I am 15 now, around January of 2010 I found out from the people who lived there before we did, the house is over 70-80 years old, 1-2 people have died and I am the only one who has ‘felt’ some one, my mom feels it in spirit, felt it in person, thanks, Jan

Is There Anything Paranormal About A Mirror?

There are lots of stories and tv shows about mirrors being portals to other dimensions, traps for ghosts or souls and other weirdness.

In reality is there anything to a mirror having magical weird properties? Or is it just very old special mirrors like antiques or something?

Can A Loved One Visit Our Dreams?

In June of 2012 I broke up with my ex of 11 years, due to the fact that he cheated on me with another girl… we had broke up once before and when we did he met her, they dated maybe a month before she cheated on him, then he came back to me but I guess had not completely let her go… needless to say she left the other guy and persuaded my bf.

No one really knows the exact story of what happened and there’s still an investigation going on, but he passed away January 1, 2013… they’re saying she caused his death, that they were in a domestic dispute. Anyways, last night I had a dream about him and usually when I dream about him its almost like a remembering the past kinda dream, but not last night, last night it felt so real, almost like I was talking to him… He told me he loved me and he wanted to be with me… I had told him I loved him too and that the only reason I had moved on was because he had… but then I was awoken by my fiancés alarm… I awoke to this weird feeling, teary eyed, confused, and heart broken

Can Animals Talk?

I guess this isn’t much a ghost story but is something that has had me perplexed for years which I hope sharing will give me answers.

I was 13 years old at the time and spending a weekend at my grandparents farm, usually when I stayed there it was to help my grandfather with certain jobs that he was getting too old to do himself, however this particular time I was sent there by my parents for some time away as I had been clashing with my father a lot at home and needed a break.

Without any jobs to be done I spent the weekend trying to find ways to entertain myself, being the little sneak I was back then I took my granddads old smoking pipe and some tobacco and snuck out behind the barn to have my first smoke, after a minute or so of trying to smoke this stuff I suddenly heard voices coming from inside the barn walls, nothing I could make out just muffled conversation but definitely human voices, I quickly emptied the pipe and shoved it in my pocket, the smell of smoke was lingering still so I decided to casually walk around to the barn entrance to see whoever was inside in hopes they had no idea what I had been doing.

I expected to walk in and see my grandfather talking somebody as they sounded like male voices however when I did the barn was empty except for Benson my grandparents German Shepard and Francis their horse. Benson was sitting facing Francis who was in his stable and when I walked in they both turned to look at me, I stood there almost frozen for a few seconds then Benson stood up and walked off. I knew I had heard voices only seconds before and was shocked to find nobody there.

I never mentioned it to my grandparents but I told my mother a few years later after my grandparents passed and the farm was sold. Has anything like this happened to anyone one before? Was I just hearing things or can animals communicate in ways they keep hidden from us. Any input would be much appreciated.

What Is An EVP?

I am fairly new to reading about ghosts and the paranormal. Earlier this morning I read a story on another site and the person was talking about an EVP and a demon that was talking to him. I was like WHAT? IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?

Now I am real interested to know if EVPs are real and if so then what in the world are they and how would a regular person be able to make one?

Sorry if my question seems dumb. Before this morning I had never heard of EVP

Tormented By A Demon Am I Strong Enough To Bless Our Home?

Since the age of 16 I have had a demon hold me down (not only while trying to sleep but I can even be awake sitting on the couch watching a movie.) it also comes to me in my dreams. A few months back it pushed me off a mountain and as I was falling it stood at the top laughing at me, then I started having a seizure. It was so real. I’ve never had one before but I could feel the jerking of body and my tongue was going toward the back of my throat.

Well last night it came back but this time while holding me down it was breathing really hard in my face. My hair was moving, for some reason this time it was cold air (normally when it comes into the house my skin feels like its burning and when it touches me I feel as though I’m being electrified.) When I opened my eyes I was only able to see its little red eyes so for the most part I forced my eyes to stay closed when all of a sudden while I was praying to God to help me. My husband grabbed me freaking out asking if I was ok, turns out that somehow this time I was able to talk except my husband says it sounded as I was having to force the words out.. (I’m washed in the blood of Jesus Christ you cant have me) there was a huge burst of air and everything was back to normal except for my heart rate.

My question is if this demon has been tormenting me all these years do you think I’m strong enough to be doing a blessing on my own (with my husband of course) or should I at least study more about doing a blessing before trying? I don’t want to make things worse… please help me

Can You Help Me To Discern What I’m Dealing With?

I wished that someone could help me discern what I’m dealing with.

It started out with my personal belongings being either moved or taken away all together. I’d also wake up every morning around 3 – 3.30 am. like it was just time for me to get up, no grogginess, nothing. But I’d have pain in my right hand, it would be swelled up pretty bad with razor like cuts to it and also bruises that weren’t there when I went to bed. And I don’t wear jewelry to bed.

I’ve also had crosses turned upside down in my jewelry box. I’ve also once went into my closet to get a top to wear, and when I opened up the closet, I noticed that tons of my tops had pants hangars on them. The ones that have clips. There were 18 total like that. My husband was there to witness that one. He couldn’t believe it.

I once put some of my expensive jewelry and fragrances inside a safe that had a combination lock to it. Got up the next day and some of my belongings were gone but in it’s place was a small white plastic tray that had driveway gravel, dirt and 2 pennies inside. This is no joke, it’s true. I would never embarrass myself in public, believe me.

I’ve also had opened up my ashtray in my car one day and inside were nothing but my sons brand of cigarette butts. Not ONE was my brand and may I add, my son wasn’t even IN my car for months before this.

Lots of other thing happened to me but it would take forever to type it all I wished I knew what I’m dealing with. I’ve tried sage, house blessed by the priest, etc.. no luck. still going on. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know thx

What Do All These Strange Things Happening To Me Mean?

Throughout my life I’ve had a few very extraordinary experiences. After my father died I really became spiritual and started becoming curious about anything having to do with the paranormal.

My 1st experience I was 22 and on the night right after ( I’m so sorry for saying this ) my fiancé and I who were trying to become pregnant were intimate I immediately saw on the ceiling a glowing greenish white baby in a mothers womb. As soon as I saw it I asked my fiancé if he did… I thought I was losing my mind..he didn’t see anything. I then said that I’m pregnant and its a girl and said I was due Oct.7. I have no idea where that came from or how I knew that but needless to say that month I missed my period and later found out I was pregnant with a girl and of course my due date was Oct.7.

Another experience I had while riding in the car with my then husband I started getting this very uneasy feeling and started feeling full of anxiety and like I was freaking out. I told my husband I couldn’t relax and it felt like something bad was gonna happen. Not even a minute later something that looked like a coyote or dog ran out of nowhere and hit the front of our car and it kept going. I immediately relaxed and I couldn’t believe I kinda felt and knew something was going to happen before it did.

I’ve had a few things happen over the years but spread far with knowing little things here and there but nothing major. My daughter and I tried to have a EVP session at my home become we both seem to be more sensitive to the other side. When we did we did talking to my dad and my grandmother who had passed. She was standing behind me recording with her phone as I stood in front of a mirror asking if any of them were around or wanted to communicate. We saw a white kinda glowing face appear behind us on the wall but it was only visible on the wall in the mirror. When we turned around to look at the wall we couldn’t see it, only if we looked at the wall through the mirror. Has anyone ever seen anything like that and what could it have been? I just don’t want to make a mistake and do something that could invite the wrong thing in. I want to believe it was my father but I don’t know.

We later heard whispers and a woman speaking on the tape that we didn’t hear when we were asking it questions and telling them how much we loved and missed them.

Could I be just sensitive to the other side or are all these things someone trying to tell me or warn me?

Maybe I just have a guardian angel or a gift I need to develop. Any help would be great. Thank you
