I heard about third eyes in a website and in tv shows. Has anyone heard of this and is it given to you from an unexplainable force?

Hi Alex
The third eye is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight.
In certain dharmic spiritual traditions such as Hinduism, the third eye refers to the ajna, or brow, chakra.
In Theosophy it is related to the pineal gland.
The third eye refers to the gate that leads to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. In New Age spirituality, the third eye often symbolizes a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance.
The third eye is often associated with religious visions, clairvoyance, the ability to observe chakras and auras, precognition, and out-of-body experiences.
People who are claimed to have the capacity to utilize their third eyes are sometimes known as seers.

Great, but confusing, answer AJ. LOL
Somehow I missed this question yesterday?
Alex, our third eye is not given to us by an unexplainable force, unless one believes God is unexplainable, since it created humanity in all its complexity. We are all born with the ajna chakra, which exists, metaphysically, behind the brow chakra (they are not the same). One description I just looked up says: The two physical eyes see the past and the present, while the third eye (ajna) reveals the insight of the future – in other words it provides the gift of clairvoyance (clear metaphysical ‘vision’).
Our chakras do not have to be ‘activated’, they all already work the way we allow them to. If they didn’t open and close naturally, we’d be dead (they shut down when we die). The chakras moderate the flow of energy, from beneath our feet (earth star chakra) to above our head, starting with lower heavier ‘earth’ energy and converting it to higher energy as it flows through our bodies, and back out into the universe). We also pump energy out of all our chakras (12 major, hundreds of nadis (smaller chakras)) all day, postive and negative, according to our moods.
So, when someone talks to you about their ‘third eye’ you can smile sweetly and say, yes, you know about the aj-na chakra. 🙂 (not to be mistaken for the brow chakra which helps to control thought/mind things).
Love & Peace
