Methods To Release Negative Energy
You can do as many as these methods as you want to, as many times as you want to anytime. Experiment with what works best for you.
1: Asking For Assistance & Meditation

When releasing your energy, depending on your belief system, you can ask your guides or your angels to help you in releasing your negative energy, and also ask for assistance in removing any negative beings around you. If this is not your belief system, relax and imagine you are being approached by practitioners that are working to help you.
Regardless if you can see or feel these beings in your mind or not, they should be essentially “massaging” you to work out all of the retained energy in your body.
Some people may feel like they are getting a full body massage as they relax and pressure on certain areas on the body, some people may see many different colors being released (this should not alarm you), some people may hear frequencies. Just because you do not hear and feel these things, does not mean you are not releasing energy. Everyone is different Just focus on your breathing and continue to relax.
You can do this method anywhere, as long as you are in a safe place.

2: Don’t Rush In The Tub Or Shower!
It’s understandable that some people take showers or baths in the morning before they go to work, and this can be a stressful time when you rush and only retain more energy. A bath or shower can be a relaxing time where you can actually release tons of energy, and it’s actually one of the BEST ways to do so, but it wont help you if you’re rushing or stressed out because you have to go to work today.
I don’t expect you to change what time of the day you take a shower or bath, but if you do, try taking one after work or before you go to bed so you can take your time, relax and unwind. If you can’t do this, try taking at least one shower or bath dedicated to releasing energy after work or school.
Spend a good amount of time shampooing your hair just to relax, giving yourself a good scalp massage and just enjoy it! Skip out on the loofa when washing your body and try using your hands with soap on them for a full self body massage, or use body oil before rinsing off and getting out of the tub.
Massaging your body is great for releasing retained energy and feeling good and relaxed, but rushing it will only retain it and create more negativity.
3: Take A Walk At Your Favorite Location
Where is your favorite place to visit? Another good way to release energy is to do things that make you feel good about yourself, but being active as well. Go on a walk on your favorite location!
If you are disabled, call up a friend, family member or caregiver and ask if they will take you out on a walk at your favorite place.
It’s okay if you don’t have a favorite spot, you can just take a walk for a few blocks, however it’s great to be at a place that makes you happy, because you are manifesting positivity quicker and releasing the negativity along with it.
4: Art, Even If You Are Not Good At It
Even if you are not good at art, arts and crafts such as doodling, painting, coloring books, jewelry making, woodwork, even graphic design and phone apps that allow you to do art release a lot of negative energy.
Also, NO ONE HAS TO SEE YOUR ART, so do not let negative feelings about your art manifest.
My favorite arts to do to release energy is coloring books, graphic design and painting apps on my phone and I notice how much better I feel after I use those tools, and I don’t have to show anyone either.
5: Keep Your Hands Busy

Stress balls are not just for stress, and play-doh is not just for kids.
We retain most of our energy in our hands and our feet.
Have a stress ball on you, or pick up some molding dough from the dollar store, or simply make some using flour, salt and water to keep your hands busy and release retained energy.
It’s also fun to play with!
6: Loud/Wild Music Releases The Worst Energy
Listening to loud, wild music (as long as it’s not violent in nature) releases the worst retained energy we have locked inside of our bodies.
Some of the side effects some may experience from this is hearing vulgar language & crude remarks (not from the music), having dissociative memories, feeling fright, anxiety and malaise for no reason, followed by a sudden fatigue.
Listening to intense, vibrant & colorful music is one of the most intense ways of releasing energy without doing any activity at all. Some people may also sing along to music to help distract themselves from these symptoms, release more energy and feel more pleasant symptoms. Others are more sensitive to this than others and some peoples experiences may vary.
Please also make sure you do not listen to music too loud to prevent hearing damage.
7: Laughter Really Is The Best Medicine
What kinds of things and people do you find funny? Set yourself up to laugh it out. Plan out to make yourself laugh at least once a day.
Watch comedy specials on Netflix, watch funny YouTube compilations, visit with your funny friends, read funny stories and jokes, play Cards Against Humanity with your friends & family, etc.
Laughing is also exercise and releases anything negative without retention.
8: Selfless Acts
While doing caring actions pisses a lot of negative spirits off, it’s a great way to release negative energy and prevent retaining it. Negative beings don’t like it when we go out of our way to do nice things for others. Not only is it good for other people but it’s good for us and the universe.
You don’t need money to do this, but if you feel giving money or your old clothes to the less fortunate is something you would like to do, it counts!
It could be something as simple as cuddling with a stray kitty who is wanting attention desperately and giving him food and water, having a friendly conversation with a stranger that looks down, asking a friend you haven’t seen in a while to go for a walk, or calling up your sister just to tell her that you love her.
Those are all very small things you can do that can make a difference in energy.
9: Watch What You Put In Your Body!
I am not here to tell you to cut out junk food forever, go vegan/vegetarian or stop eating the food you love.
What I am going to tell you is, stop consuming so much toxic foods and substances!
It is always okay to eat, drink and consume comfort foods & substances in moderation, however, taking them in excess is a disaster in retaining negative energy. Processed food is the number 1 substance in retaining negative energy, along with substances containing heavy processed chemicals. Try only consuming these in moderation, but do not make yourself unhappy, this will only manifest more negative energy.
If you feel you have a problem and cannot stop taking a substance, overeating or under eating, please seek help from a medical professional.
10: Let Go Of Self Doubt And Pick Your Community
The number one reason people retain so much negative energy is self doubt & community.
[pullquote style=”right”]The people you want to surround yourself with are people you always want to be with, people who make you laugh, smile, cry happily, and share happy memories with. Bad people attract negative manifestations, while good people attract positive ones.[/pullquote]
A harsher way of saying it, the number one reason you retain so much negative energy is all because of you! You have to let go of all resentment you have for yourself, as well as doubts you have about your thoughts, your future, present and past. Live in the moment. It is easier said than done, but you have to WANT to feel better in order to get better, else it will not happen.
If you feel talking to a professional will help you, this might be a great step in order to release some negative feelings about your life. If this isn’t an option right now, make sure you are building a positive support system.
Do not hang out with people that make you feel sad, insecure, angry or stressed out. The people that make you feel miserable are what causes negative energy to retain.
Be selective on who you keep in your personal community.
